Federal Criminal Law

Being a criminal defendant in federal court is entirely different from being a criminal defendant in state court.  Federal criminal defendants often face longer prison sentences and larger fines than state criminal defendants.  Perhaps the most important difference between federal and state court is that federal courts do not allow for parole, meaning that if you are convicted of a crime in federal court, you will be required to serve far more of your prison sentence than you would if convicted of a crime in state court.  As a result, it is imperative that you have an attorney who is familiar with the procedure in federal court and can ensure that you receive the best possible defense.

All of the attorneys at Johnson Bearse, LLP are admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, meaning that no matter where a federal case is brought against you in the state of Kentucky, Johnson Bearse, LLP can help.
